Admission Requirements
- All applicants must submit their application through PTCAS.Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Students who are accepted into the DPT program must meet the following admissions criteria prior to beginning coursework:
- Prospective students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and a prerequisite course GPA of 3.00 or greater, respectively, is required for admission.
Prerequisites
At the time of application submission, prospective students must have at least six (6) of the nine (9) required prerequisites completed to be considered. All nine prerequisite courses must be completed prior to matriculation, as reflected by official transcripts.
Completion of the following prerequisite courses with a grade of B or higher is required:
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I (with lab)
- Must have been completed in last 10 years.
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II (with lab)
- Must have been completed in last 10 years.
- General Biology I (with lab)
- General Chemistry I (with lab)
- General Physics I (with lab)
- General Physics II (with lab)
- Statistics (i.e., General Statistics, Biostatistics, Research Design)
- Two (2) Psychology Courses (i.e., General, Abnormal, Developmental)
Encouraged and recommended prerequisites:
- Pathophysiology
- Neuroscience
- Medical Terminology (certificate or course)
An alternate admissions pathway is available for students with an active clinical license and at least 1 year of patient-facing experience.
- Athletic trainers, registered clinical exercise physiologists, emergency medical technicians, licensed practical nurses, physical therapy
assistants, registered nurses, and respiratory therapists. - Respiratory therapists may apply without prerequisite requirements.
Other Requirements
- A minimum of 50 observation hours, volunteer or work, with a licensed physical therapist is required. Observation at two (2) separate practice type locations is required unless the experience provided extensive work hours well exceeding the minimum requirement.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation; one from the applicant’s choice such as an employer, boss, or mentor and the other from a professor or licensed physical therapist whom they observed.
- A 1-to-2 page personal statement that provides a genuine reflection into personal motivations for pursuing the physical therapy profession and readiness for the academic and professional demands of a hybrid, accelerated, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
- Applicants selected to advance in the admissions process will be invited to complete an asynchronous video interview conducted through the Kira Talent platform.
- A minimum of one info session or webinar was attended as a reflection of awareness specific to Wilson College and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Program Format and Course Delivery
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Wilson College is delivered through a structured hybrid format designed to balance online coursework with hands-on clinical preparation. Our goal is to provide a purpose-driven learning environment focused on improving patient outcomes and community health.

Online Coursework

Accreditation
Wilson College is seeking accreditation of a new physical therapist education program from CAPTE. The program is planning to submit an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre-accreditation stage, on November 1st, 2026. Submission of this document does not ensure that the program will be granted Candidate for Accreditation status. Achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status is required prior to implementation of the professional phase of the program; therefore, no students may be enrolled in professional courses until Candidate for Accreditation status has been achieved. Further, though achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status signifies satisfactory progress toward accreditation, it does not assure that the program will be granted accreditation.
